Our Second Workshop - Musical Theatre!

Updated: May 4, 2020

Hi everyone,

First and foremost, I hope everyone is healthy and happy and keeping their spirits up during this difficult time. We are doing our best over here to keep things going, despite challenges, and as such, we're happy to announce a second workshop series.

Broadway History Through the Hits

This course will be a crash course in Musical Theatre history told by looking at some of the most famous musicals of all time. We'll examine how Musical Theatre was created, how it evolved over the past century and the different types of musicals that you can see today.

Session 1 - Book Musicals (looking at Oklahoma!, Show Boat, and The Book of Mormon)

Session 2 - Rock Musicals (looking at Hair, Rent, and Spring Awakening)

Session 3 - Megamusicals (looking at The Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, and Wicked)

Session 4 - Jukebox Musicals (looking at Mamma Mia!, Jersey Boys, Moulin Rouge)

Session 5 - Concept Musicals (looking at Company, A Chorus Line, and Assassins.

We're very happy to have Musical Theatre-trained Meg Adams helping us out with this course, too!

All the workshops will be online (through Zoom), and completely pay-what-you-can (even if you can't pay anything). They run an hour in length and you don't have to commit to all five, we're really flexible if there's one specific one that peaks your interest, or you want to come along to a few (or all!).

The sessions will run weekly and are available on Tuesdays from 7-8pm OR Thursdays from 1-2pm. (If neither of these times work for you, but you're still interested, feel free to get in touch).

Session 1 will begin Tues. Apr. 7 OR Thurs. Apr. 9

If you're interested, or would like to know more, please send us a quick email at courtney@whiterabbittheatre.org

Stay safe and stay home!
